KODAK i2900 and i3400 Scanners Earn Summer “Pick” Awards for Product Design, Document Handling and Imaging Quality

Two KODAK scanners have been selected as 2013 Summer “Pick” Award recipients for best-in-class performance by Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI). The independent provider of product testing and competitive intelligence named the KODAK i2900 Scanner as the “Outstanding A4 Flatbed Departmental Scanner” and the KODAK i3400 Scanner as the “Outstanding Low-Volume A3 Production Scanner.”

“The i2900 and i3400 Scanners provide an exceptional user experience from a compact design with a focus on quality and functionality,” said Tony Barbeau, Kodak’s General Manager for Document Imaging. “The ‘Pick’ awards demonstrate how these products outperform the competition with robust features that enable businesses to increase the value of document tasks and processes.”

The i2900 Scanner (www.kodak.com/go/i2900news) is a powerful, yet compact rotary A4 desktop scanner with a built-in book-edge flatbed scanner ideal for any small business, department or branch office. Its design, while space-saving, includes a larger than average document feeder that handles multiple paper weights and lengths, a key component of BLI’s recognition. BLI also noted that the i2900 has “faster than average speeds, virtually no slowdowns when changing settings and above average tested optical character recognition accuracy.”

“The i2900 offers a comprehensive scanning solution complete with robust media-handling capabilities, a user-friendly design, better than average productivity and an easy-to-use scan utility that allows users to get up and running quickly,” said Joe Ellerman, BLI’s Senior Test Technician.
The i3400 Scanner (www.kodak.com/go/i3000series) also delivers powerful results from a small footprint with maximum daily volumes of up to 20,000 pages. The i3400 enhances user functionality with a graphic user interface that displays messages related to job name or status. BLI cited the i3400’s design and hardware as a product that allows “even novice users to master scan functionality with little training.” BLI also recognized the i3400’s total cost of ownership, which is at least $4,000 lower than the competition.

“Nearly any document-intensive scanning environment can benefit from the supreme functionality offered by the i3400,” said Lisa Reider, BLI’s Senior Product Editor for Scanners. “In additional to its versatile media-handling capabilities, the unit can be equipped with optional imprinter or flatbed accessories to further customize its functionality.”
